The shrimp wet burrito is awesome! When people park three deep on the parking lot you know it has to be good.

There's been a lot of talk about where to get the best tacos in town. I'm here to tell you that without a doubt, Jacky's has the best tortillas.

Clean restaurant, friendly atmosphere, and consistently delicious food! My favorite is the Authentic Guatemalan Dish. Perfect blend of spices, sauces, and fresh meat.

Don't judge a book by it's cover, or by what's inside. The outside of the restaurant could use some work, and the inside is pretty bare bones but don't let the looks deter you. The food is good and reasonably priced. They also have a bakery which offers wonderful confections at very low prices.

My dining companions and I quite literally wandered into Jacky's with no real desire for Mexican food again, having suffered through a mediocre presentation of the same earlier that day at the merciless hands of another restaurant. But upon crossing the threshold, we were reassured that this would be another experience entirely. Homey and cozy, the interior is unpretentious and inviting. The salsa and chips were good and the guacamole was fresh and tasty. I ordered the chorizo taco dinner, which includes the rice and beans and an additional fish taco. The chorizo was for serious chunks of a handmade sausage, not that fine ground stuff that can be red. Good tortillas, a generous portion of slamming chorizo and a little cheese made the tacos a delicious experience. The rice and beans were quite tasty indeed and they were the first to fall to my fork. The fish taco came with a generous portion of fish and a little slaw on a tortilla and was quite nicely spiced and grilled, though I still added hot sauce. None of my dining companions left very much on their plates and I demolished that which was given to me. I was ready to write off Souix Falls as a place where you can get some ripping Mexican food. Then I ate at Jacky's and my mind was changed. Well done, everyone. Keep up the good work and we'll see you next time we're in Souix Falls!

I and 3 ofmy family members decided to go to this place based on the reviews I got from here. Bad idea. We were sat quickly and our server brought our drinks right away. However she didn't take our order until 20 minutes later when my husband and the host reminded her that we were sitting there. The food was brought out 15 minutes after that on extremely hot plates but the food was cold. Another customer was seated on an elevated platform and when she exiting the establishment she fell. HARD! No one from the restaurant came to her aide I had to help her up and help her with her to go box. She insisted that she was okay I hope so. She was mid 50s and falls like that can cause all kinds of medical issues. Another 20 minutes go by before we get our check and the total order was close to $100.00, which I think is insane since the food tasted like any of the "latin" places in Sioux Falls. Needless to say I left no tip! I know I brought kids which they seemed irritated by, but I always tip very well. She lost out for putting on her blinders and forgetting we were there. TREAT PEOPLE KINDLY AND REMEMBER YOUR CUSTOMERS.

All the reviews we checked out before we came here were correct. Must stop and try out as much as you can! Homemade goodness for all of our parties lunches. I had the barrio with "Christmas" sauce on it (red, green, and white). Salsa is made in house and has a unique flavor that you know is made with fresh ingredients. If your in the area you must stop in!

I just had the BEST Mexican food in Sioux Falls! This place is a hidden gem near downtown sf. Huge portions at affordable prices. I'll definitely be back!

In short, this restaurant is amazing! Food is great, environment neat, and service fine. We six are traveling across the continent and happened to stop by the fall park for a lunch. It's about 3 in the afternoon, so there aren't many people in the restaurant. There's only one lady serving here, so I can see it could be hard in busy hours. The lady kindly introduced their menu for us and answered our questions about dishes. We were stunned by the delicious food. The wet shrimp burrito was properly seasoned and not to oily. The jacky's burrito is stuffed with a lot of steak and beef, and it's great too. The best of all is the 7 sea soup (I can't recall the name). It takes 30 min to cook, but it really worth it. With a huge amount of seafood in the soup and the special broth, neither too salty nor too spicy, it just fits perfectly with our need. The lady kindly offered to take photos for us all. We are really satisfied with our experience here. We wish we could have more chances to have meals here.

I ordered the Churrasco Mixto as recommended by the Guatemalan waiter. "It's what we eat in the old-country", he told me. Well, if that's how they eat in Guatemala, I need to start vacationing there. The rich flavors of the Chorizo & Steak when kissed by the red sauce and guacamole was truly heavenly. Chased down by a blended Mango margarita (from real mangos) & you have the recipe for a "foodie's" palate pleasuring experience.

Very good Mexican food,. I would suggest the Enchiladas. The salsa is real good and my favorite Mexican restaurant in Sioux Falls. I will definitely be back

Of all the places to find some good Mexican food, I didn't think Sioux Falls would be one of them, but it was. I had a shredded chicken chimichanga and it was great. The staff was very friendly and the place was very laid back and casual.

This restaurant was cute and the service was good. They had a good drink list. However, the salsa was bland and the burrito I had was really bland. It was juicy and good sized portions, but just kind of meh tasting.

I don't give 5 stars lightly, but this place deserves it! I went there last night with a friend from out of town and we had dinner. The place itself looks clean and welcoming. We sat at a booth and got menus instantly. Right after we ordered our drinks we got fresh chips and salsa which were great! I am quite picky when it comes to salsa and this was really good. Within less than 10 minutes we got our dishes and they were sizzling hot. The food looked very appetizing and the portions were quite large. I got the Mexican shrimp and my friend had the Guatemalan dish with chicken in a coconut milk sauce. My dish came with rice, beans, some pico de gallo, sour cream, lettuce and soft corn tacos. My friends dish came with rice and beans and coleslaw. Not only did it look great but it also tasted great! I will be back again, no doubt about it!

Wet shrimp burritos were amazing! Big shrimp with amazing creamy cheese sauce. Great margaritas as well!

Service was a little slow and had to wait 10 or so extra minutes for drink refills but the food was tasty, fresh and delicious. The house salsa was very fresh and had a nice heat. The chips were a bit heavy but worked well to keep us busy while we waited for our meal. The beef and chicken flautas were amazing. The house red sauce is like heaven. The meats used in their dishes were tender and flavored well. The milk cake was what I was after but sadly they were out, the sopapillas were swell.

The food was excellent, great tacos. The ambience was simple and enjoyable. The portions were reasonable. We recommend it. We are not from the area but from Chicago and this was an excellent place. We ate taquitos, enchiladas and torta de milanesa

Waited for over 15 minutes just to place my order, they were not overly busy, my waiter was not overrun. So I just left. I've eaten here before, food is great but the service is terrible. Went to Nikki's a block and a half away....excellent Mexican food

I was told to try Jacky's for their fajitas and burritos...I am glad that I did! I had the shrimp wet burrito for lunch and it was the best burrito I have ever had. The ingredients appeared to be high quality, and were full of flavor. The shrimp were large and tasty. The chips and salsa were also very good. My server, Anna, was very friendly and provided great service. I got in and out in under 45 minutes for lunch. I will definitely find myself at Jacky's again in the near future.

Lunch isn't supposed to be this good, in this part of town! Jacky's is an unusual name for a Mexican restaurant, but then again this is an unusual Mexican restaurant. First impression is a warm, clean, and welcoming experience. The second surprise was the extensive array of offerings on the menu. The third and best was the quality of the food. Joan and I had Huevos Rancheros, one of our favorites. We were not disappointed. The dish was rich and well prepared with subtle undertones of flavors. At no time are your senses assaulted with unnecessary spice. We ordered ours with corn tortillas, and we were not disappointed. The service was excellent, the price was fair and we now know why this restaurant is so highly rated. Do yourself a favor and try Jacky's surprising non-chain style Mexican restaurant, and create your own excellent dining experience.

I have been a frequent customer at Jacky's and have concluded that this is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant, ever. Nestled downtown, Jacky's is what I consider one of Sioux Falls' hidden treasures. The inside is charming and the staff have always been accommodating. My favorite dish is their Carne Asada with corn tortillas. It is always cooked to perfection. My wife's favorite is their chicken quesedilla. I have brought friends and family who also rave about their dining experience. One of my friends is still talking about their famous burritos! I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough and you will not be disappointed by your visit. I highly encourage you eat at what I consider the best Mexican food you can get in the midwest. From their chips and salsa, to the dessert, there is something for everyone. I look forward to my next visit, and many more to come!

I live in a small town nearby and drove into Sioux Falls for my birthday. I figured I'd made a good choice when I saw the restaurant was packed for lunch before noon. There were four of us. Two of us got the Authentic Guatemalan Dish. Having never had Guatemalan food before, I can't say how authentic it was, but it was delicious. The meat was tender, and the coconut cream was rich in flavor. The churrasco was also a big hit, the meat cooked perfectly. Despite the crowded restaurant, the service was fairly quick. The waiter even took some time to explain Guatemalan cuisine to us.

Best Mexican food and salsa in Sioux Falls! I was told to go here and so glad I did! Only reason not five stars is bc both their specials they had posted on their website they refused to take bc they said "oh I think that's coming down off the web soon" then when asked if still would honor since it's still online they refused! So not happy about that but food was great and I will still be going back again!

We went here based on the good reviews and reported low prices, which were actually a bit higher. Lunches are under $10 but dinners are over that. Salsa was very mild; I would have liked it a bit more spicy. The first bowl of salsa and chips were complimentary; $1.99 for a refill. When we first arrived we noticed two doors, one of which said "Please Use Other Door." We found it locked, and another couple had just arrived so we all went in the one with the sign. We found ourselves in the middle of a private party. We went to the back so we could get to the other room, and one employee told us they were closed. Another, a bit older, said they were open and directed us into the main room. We arrived within their posted open hours. We were allowed to order off the lunch menu as we have small appetites, and they were less expensive. Both the shredded beef and chicken flautas were very good. A small salad with about a teaspoon each of sour cream and guacamole was in the center. Our total bill, with one imported beer and tax, was just under $20. It would have been over $30 if we had ordered off the dinner meno. Just a note for those used to Mexican food in AZ, NM or TX: the chile rellenos here are made of jalapenos, not the milder, traditional poblano peppers.

A classic hole-in-the wall from the outside, but it turns out to be impeccably clean with high-quality nosh! Even an open kitchen so there's no mystery.

Okay, I am going to call this one if the best meals I've had in a long time! Jacky's Enchiladas (1 shredded beef and 1 one shredded chicken) plus steak with grilled green onions. The best Spanish rice and yummy refried beans. Accompanied with sour cream, tasty pico that has a different flavor, lettuce and...wait for it... A delicious homemade spicy pickled carrot! It was so good that I asked for more and he brought a heaping bowl of them. The steak was filled to perfection - thin and seasoned to delight the pallet. The enchiladas were both excellent and the shredded beef one tastes like mom's best pot roast. So good! The margaritas were tasty and large portioned. My husband and I shared a slice of tres leches cake. Quick, someone get me a wheelbarrow to get out the door. They set a squeeze bottle of some kind of hot sauce on the table which had the sneakiest heat attack I have ever experienced. Thinking habanero, but not sure. The flavor was superb. So glad to find this gem during my short trip to Sioux Falls. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE. Great service - Guatemalan flare.

Don't let the name fool you, this place has terrific mexican food. It is probably some of the best food you can find in sioux falls. And you leave Jacky's hungry it's your own fault because they give you a metric shit ton of food. Another hidden gem of dining in the downtown area.

This is our go-to Mexican restaurant when in SF. I've had the fajitas, fish tacos, burritos, and huervos rancheros and never been disappointed. Tonight I had the seafood stew (Caldo de 7 Mares). It was fabulous! Tilapia, green lip mussels, crab legs, squid, octopus, and shrimp in an outstanding broth. Portions are huge so you'll be bringing some home for lunch tomorrow. I would have given them 5 stars except the owners kid kept cranking up Sponge Bob Square Pants on the TV in the corner of the dining room.

Stopped here while on a road trip, and could not have been more pleased and surprised. Best Mexican food I have had in years. Clean, charming little place in the middle of what looks like a warehouse district. Will definitely stop here again if I pass through Sioux Falls.

A friend and I went for what I thought would be a light lunch, I was in for a big surprise. Jacky's has some of the best food I've had in ages. All fresh, homemade, and delicious. We started with a Negro Modelo with fish and shrimp tacos. Their homemade tortillas are light and flaky with a great taste. The house hot sauce, although not required is excellent too. For my entree, I had their churrasco mixto, the churrasco was tender and juicy with great flavor, the chorizo was the best I've ever eaten. The accompaniments of guacamole, roasted potatoes, and a coleslaw, of sorts, were equally great. My friend had a shrimp burrito that looked as though it weighed ten pounds, covered in a cheese sauce sent from the heavens. I definitely recommend Jacky's for just about any occasion, I will certainly be returning soon.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

I've eaten at all the Mexican restaurants in town and this is by far the best. I've also eaten at several triple D Mexican restaurants and rank Jacky's with the best if those.

Jacky's is a SuFu institution. The food is delicious and the wait staff is awesome! A great Friday night.
